However there are various cases when the eyelids take a darker brownish shade. In this case we have to deal with hyper-pigmentation which can be the direct result of excessive sun exposure. This condition can be handled with a few easy-to-follow rituals using natural ingredients that are available in every household. These are some of the time-tested treatments that should be included in the daily beauty routine for the desired result.

Alexander McQueen’s Death Mouned by the Fashion World

Alexander McQueen’s Death Mouned by the Fashion World

Lee Alexander McQueen, Britain’s one of the most talented fashion designers was found dead in his home in Mayfair, central London on February 11. The cause of McQueen’s death was apparently suicide. The entire fashion world is trying to come to terms with the sudden and shocking loss of the brilliant designer.

The brilliant designer’s death shocked and stunned the whole fashion world, as designers, retailers and fashion insiders got under way in NY this week. Scheduled for March 9 at La Conciergerie Paris, Alexander McQueen’s show would have been among the last of the Paris Fashion Week.

The self-described “big mouth East English yob” has captured the spotlight with his creativity, showmanship and iconoclasm that almost single-handedly put London back onto the fashion map.

McQueen was called by the critics an enfant terrible and a hooligan of English fashion.
Known for his aggressive side and fascination of dark subjects, he proved a captivating storyteller, creating deeply realized characters through fashion that awed his audiences.

Son of a taxi driver and a social science teacher, Lee Alexander McQueen was born in London on March 17, 1969. His father wanted him to become an electrician or a plumber, but Lee always knew he wanted to work in fashion.
Being aware of his homosexuality at an early age of 8, he was mocked by other children who called him “McQueer.” He leftschool at 16 to apprentice as tailor at Anderson & Sheppard and then Gieves & Hawkes.

By the time he’s 21, McQueen had also worked for a theatrical costume company and designers Koji Tatsuno and Romeo Gigli. He got his master’s degree at London’s Central Saint Martins (formerly Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design) in 1994.

McQueen’s graduate collection caught the attention of Isabella Blow, the late, legendary, fashion guru who purchased his entire graduation collection and helped him make industry connections.
Blow’s suicide in 2007 “just left a big void in my life,” McQueen told W magazine back in 2008.
In Isabella Blow’s memory, he stated a tribute show, with angel wings as a backdrop and a poster-size invitation that depicted Blow riding to the heavens in a chariot pulled by winged horses.

Speculations center on whether McQueen had been depressed over Blow’s suicide, but the trigger was the death of McQueen’s beloved mother last week.
Details about funeral services were not available at press time. McQueen is survived by his father and five sisters.

The McQueen company issued a statement, saying, “We are devastated and are sharing a sense of shock and grief with Lee’s family.” It added, “Lee’s family has asked for privacy in order to come to terms with this terrible news.”

McQueen won the British Fashion Awards’ British Designer of the Year several times and won the Men’s Wear Designer of the Year award in 2004.
In 2003, he received the CFDA Award for Best International Designer and was honored with a CBE from Queen Elizabeth II for his services to the fashion industry.

McQueen said he hoped to create special capsule collections so the public could buy his designs right off his runway. He was also dreaming of setting up glass pyramids, “anywhere in the world,” he said, and beaming holograms of his fashion shows into them.
“This is the birth of a new dawn,” McQueen said and, perhaps in a comment that perfectly captured his entire career, he added, “There is no way back for me now. I am going to take you on journeys you’ve never dreamed were possible.”

    Pre-Wedding Hair Care

Pre-wedding hair care plays a crucial role in the pre-planning process of the big day. Without a doubt choosing the right hair style is just as important as preparing our strands for the loads of curls and styling products. These all will guarantee the long-lasting and spotless effect of the locks, however these might also reduce the resistance of cuticles to face harmful effects. Read through the following guidelines to enjoy the beauty of your locks.

A wedding is one of the most precious moments both in the life of the bride and groom as well as the guests. It is a well-known fact that one of the greatest attractions of a similar event is the look of the celebrated couple and especially the bride. Opting for the right wedding dress as well as hair style will determine the success of the ceremony. Moreover a flawless and chic appearance can also offer the proper confidence to face the rising emotions. Following a well-defined hair care routine might not be completely enough to face the harsh impact of various wedding trials. These might presuppose the excessive use of hair styling products as well as accessories. The various hair dressing techniques as straightening, perm or simple curling might ruin the state of your strands. Devote enough time to the pre-wedding hair care in order to be able to adopt a natural look without artificial corrections that should camouflage the signs of deterioration on your strands.

  • Conditioning: Regardless of the season you’ve planned your wedding to take place it is essential to take some precautions to prevent the deterioration of the hair. Both the hot as well as cold seasons might give your strands endless headaches. From the effect of the sun, pollution as well as other dehydration you’ll might face breakage and even hair loss.

One of the emergency remedies to keep your hair spotless especially before the wedding is conditioning. Using the proper nourishing products and treatments can be the best solution to treat your problems.

Appeal to the miraculous restoring quality of natural hot oil treatments as olive oil. This solution will do magic with your worn-out hair. Moreover don’t forget about the hair products with sun protection and also rich in hair vitamins and supplements.

  • Hair Coloring: Some brides would opt for a quick hair coloring a few days before the wedding. However professionals advise everyone to go through a similar makeover at least 2 weeks before the big day. This is the ideal period left to the strands to reveal their natural color. Moreover the artificial look of various shades will completely disappear and you’ll be able to enjoy a natural appearance. It is important to complete your attire with the perfect hairdo and also hair color. Keep away of sudden tone changes as from black to blonde, or blonde to red, since these might not have the desired result especially when done a few hours or the night before the wedding. Avoid similar disasters with careful planning.
  • Hair Styling Tools; Professional hair stylists highly recommend the reduction of the use of hair styling tools before the wedding day. Flat and also curling irons and even blow-dryers can have a harsh and unpleasant effect on your strands. These will not only damage but will also dry out the strands which can lead to a dull look and even breakage. Instead if your are fond of the super-sleek or curly hairstyles appeal to natural hair straighteners or curling methods that won’t have any side-effects. Moreover there are various styling products that have the quality of keeping your locks straight or preserving their wavy look.
  • Wedding Trials: One of the most important duties of brides is to plan the various wedding trials to find the ideal wedding hair style. A professional stylist will provide clients with the proper hair care tips and would also illustrate some of the most popular wedding hair styles. This should be done preferably at least a few weeks before the great event.

Furthermore it is also important to have at least 3 of these wedding trials, since these meetings will increase the chances to sport the perfect hairdo. During these sessions besides preparing a special hairdo, it is recommended to book for a hair spa treatment.

With the use of the revolutionary methods hair professionals will eliminate the dryness as well as dullness of the strands, furnishing your look with a healthy and shiny accessory. It is also advisable to make some photos that would help you in making the best decision. Choose your stylist carefully based on his/her earlier works and reputation.

  • Boost your chances to become the righteous queen of the day on your wedding by applying the hair care guidelines above. Both pre-wedding skin care as well as hair care can secure your radiating and memorable look that would immortalize your entree.

    All about the Flu…

See what happens when I leave the West Coast? I get hit by the flu. Not fun. I seriously felt like I got hit by a truck. I came back to work from vacation for 2 days and then preceded to take 2 sick days. Ughhh. I felt so ill that I actually went home to my parents. Sometimes all you need is your mommy, even when you’re in your thirties. hehehe. I did manage to watch the Golden Globes last night. My favourite dress from the night is that of Emily Blunt. Soft, frilly and feminine. Love it!

    Which dress did you covet?

    Natural Hair Removal Methods

Chemicals often have a harmful effect on our skin and organism in general. More and more people follow a natural lifestyle avoiding the use of artificial methods and chemical-based beauty products.

Those who go the green way might consider that the body care routine makes no exception. That’s why look at these natural hair removal methods.

    Sugaring

  • Often the natural beauty treatments require the use of ingredients right from our kitchen. This hair removal method is the real example for this.
  • Mix a cup of sugar and the juice of a half lemon a quarter of cup honey, and there you go! You made the most organic and eco-friendly sugar paste ready to eliminate undesired hair with.
  • Similarly to waxing apply the warm (not hot) sugar to your legs or the critical spots. Then use the specific cloth, then remove the hair with a sudden move.
  • This method has endless benefits, besides the fact that unlike wax it won’t irritate or hurt your skin. The pain will be also less harsh, still the method will remove all the unwanted hair. It can be easily done at home with a DIY kit, without assuming any risk. The effect will last almost as long as with waxing.
  • Pumice Stone

  • Abrasive hair removal methods were used in ancient times. However some might find them less painful and more effective then the ones invented later on. Pumice stone is the only one that is still used among the fans of eco-friendly beauty. The only condition to make the wonder happen is to keep our legs wet and then start the friction.
  • It must be mentioned that this method serves rather as an option to remove small portions of hair, rather than an all in all hair removal process.
  • Those who are rookies in this business might find it useful especially if their hair is still thin and gentle.
  • Rub the pumice stone in a circular way, gently without pushing it too hard.Avoid causing damage to your skin and let your legs soapy and neat.
  • You might experience a tiny redness but don’t panic its a normal reaction of the skin to abrasives. Soon it will disappear.
  • Waxing

  • This method applies the same rules as sugaring does. Indeed often considered one of the most common and efficient hair removal techniques waxing can be called 100% natural.
  • Using a beeswax or paraffin substance the hair is plucked right from the root. Pumice stone might serve for fine hair only, however waxing can handle the thickest ones also.
  • Natural waxes made of plants, water and other herbs not only help you get rid of hair, but also moisturize and pamper your skin. Without leaving red bumps behind. Refresh your body with a painless waxing session for the fabulous result and learn how to reduce waxing pain.

    Business Meeting Hairstyles

Business meeting hairstyles or corporate hairstyles may have different varieties depending on taste of the wearer. These hairstyles can be categorized into three groups. The first group belongs to the 1980s crunch hairstyle that is complete with spiral perms and poof bangs. Such hairstyle does not bring a positive message to the people of the recent time especially during a business meeting. To achieve success in a business workplace, one must be prepared in dealing with the modern changes by having a fresh outlook. Even though you are a diligent worker, your hairstyle will provide that you are having difficulties keeping up with the changing times.

The second group consists of women who have the hair but do not have the sense of style. These women sport the same look everyday even though seasons change, their hairstyles do not change. Wearing the same look everyday may imply lack of ability for fresh and new ideas for the progress and success of the business. Such hairstyles also denote the “don’t care” attitude for the business and co-workers as well.

The third group consists of women who always have the fashion and style when it comes to their hair. In most cases, these women have their own personal hairstylist at home or even go to the salon to fix their hair. This kind of women can be impressive to other people but to some business or company, it may not since it represents devoting too much time to oneself and having maintenance on hairstyles.

How to Achieve Business Meeting Hairstyles

To achieve the perfect look of business meeting hairstyles, versatility is the right keyword. A flattering color, long layers, and clean cut will one to style the hair in many simple ways. Since you have a busy working hour, you can go for a neat bun or classic ponytail instead. Such hairstyle can create a quick and professional style. Long layered hairstyle with elegant curls is also perfect and elegant for a business meeting.

Start by placing one of your hands in a bowl of warm water to allow your hand to soften and let it soak for about 2 minutes. Take your hand out and dry the water off using a clean towel. Apply the cuticle remover on the cuticles or used the cuticle pusher to to push back the cuticles.
Using the nail clipper clip your nails the desired length as they are less likely to break after they have soaked in water and use the nail file of buffer to gently smooth or shape the nails as desired. After obtaining the desired shape follow the same steps on your other hand as well.
