Five Most Popular Bridesmaids Gift Ideas for 2009

It’s 2009. Which gifts are the most popular among bridesmaids?

Bridesmaids are the most excited from among the other members of the wedding entourage. For one, their gowns are made special for easy identification. Moreover, they do not only walk down the aisle, but they also play a special part throughout the wedding ceremony—assisting the bride and the maid of honor. They also help during wedding rehearsals. They also usher guests in the wedding reception. Hence, a wedding would not be complete without them.

Before the day itself, they spend a good deal of money for their gowns, shoes, accessories, and hairstyles. But money isn’t the thing here. It is the support they willingly give to the bride and the groom. For this reason, newlyweds consider giving them present as their way of showing appreciation. More often than not, the bride is not hard pressed to determine the perfect gift for her bridesmaids because they are normally her sister(s) and/or best friends. So, choosing from among this list of the most popular bridesmaid gift ideas is easy:

T-Shirt
Look for a T-shirt printing and design company. Ask for their sample works to make certain that their works are of high quality. Once negotiations are settled, arrange for special instructions.  Tell them to print the words “I AM A BRIDESMAID” in front of the shirt and the name of the newlyweds (that’s you and your husband) and the date of the wedding at the back. Choose a stylish shirt. Make sure you give each of them their shirts in their favorite colors. Remember, girls love fashion!

Handbag
Ask your couturier to match the bridesmaids’ dresses with handbags; but, make a particular instruction that it be designed for use on occasions other than your wedding and more, importantly, embroidered with their names.

Initial Pendant Necklace in Sterling Silver

Look for a manufacturer of initial pendant necklace in sterling silver. Ask referrals from people you know or better check online to enable you to see their sample works. With this type of gift, your bridesmaids will truly feel special. And, isn’t this so sweet? Ask them to wear their necklaces during your wedding day.

Books
Reading books is still one of the interests of women. It varies only on topics subjects. Some love romance novels, while some go for inspirational and science and fiction, among others. Know which is of importance to each of them to make sure that the ones you will buy are appreciated.

Fitness and Health Related Items
Buy a gift that has something to do with fitness and health. Girls just go gaga on things that can help them look fit and good. Buy a book or a CD of a particular fitness exercise. You may also consider buying a magazine or a book that features healthy diets. If these are not enough, purchase exercise equipment, such as dumbbell, exercise ball, yoga mat or the cheaper ones, like hula-hoop. On the second thought, you may also want to think about giving sports equipment or accessories.

Divine Wedding Venues

How stunning is this church? While many couples choose to marry in churches, temples, synagogues, and other religious institutions, not many couples have the privilege of marrying in a grand, stained glassed-filled historical church like this one – the Timothy Eaton Memorial Church. I know many couples who forgo the familiar nature of their regular church/synagogue in favour of a church/synagogue that is more grand or ornate, i.e. more apropos for a wedding. For those of you who were or will be married in a religious institution, how did you decide on your venue?

How to Dress for a Rock Concert

Those who are keen to dive into the atmosphere of live performances will be keen to learn how to dress for a rock concert. Some would find it quite challenging others a real fun. These ideas will offer you plenty of options to organize your outfit and make a statement in the crowd. Flash your style-consciousness with some groovy tricks that would polish your appearance.

Regardless of your age you might be interested on how to come up with ingenious outfit ideas when preparing for a rock concert. Indeed some would take the safest combination of T-shirt and jeans, others would like to attract the popping eyes of their entourage with a surprising ensemble. Casual clothes as well as more specific accessories can be fused into a single attire which echoes the all time heritage of rock bands. Whether you are heading for a reunion or the show of a rising band the point is to pair the right look with the perfect atmosphere. Therefore keep all doors open for brand new outfits that would certainly drag all eyes on you. These are some of the most essential tips to look smashing on a rock concert.

  • The Scene: Make sure you take into account all the essential details of the scene where the concert will take place. It’s not a novelty that outdoor and indoor shows differ a lot both in circumstances and atmosphere. Therefore consider your options, whether sporting a skirt or a dress would fit an outdoor performance or it’s wiser to wear your ageless jeans. The pre-planning process should begin with this phase that would pretty much determine your whole outfit. Opt for a casual chic look if the concert is organized outdoors and during the rainy season, also the summer can be harsh if you flash some skin and expose your body to the UV rays.
  • Miss SixtyMiss Sixty

  • Tops: In this case professionals would advise you to adopt a casual chic look. Those who would like to go for the safest version might rely on the simplicity and stylish allure of a T-shirt. This should suit your body shape and size. Devoted fans can go for the band tops that would have the picture of the performers on it. However if you consider it so ’80s make sure you wear something creative, with digital art patterns and prints. These will perk up your look on the spot.

Moreover you can also bring your favorite hoodie with you. These will not only offer protection from the cozy weather if the concert is outdoors but will also look unique when paired with the right pants as well as makeup and hairstyle. Choose the right patterns with care, rock equals black, skulls and all that is related to the dark side. Therefore skip the Hello Kitty patterns, bows and hearts. These will only make you look an amateur.

  • Miss SixtyMiss Sixty

  • Pants: The rock chic look perfectly fits the skinny jeans. Therefore regardless of your body shape have at least two pairs of similar jeans designs in your wardrobe. These paired with the right top either printed or mono-colored will create a relaxed and at the same time stylish look. Jeans as well as leather will also prove to be the best option to complete your outfit. Choose between the various must have jeans types and washes to widen the array of your options. There’s no need to stick to dark washes since your top can perfectly flash your style-consciousness. Distressed jeans are also some of the top favorite choices of stylist when organizing a rock chic outfit. These are apparently ripped and stained still have a high quality look. Go for them if you feel confident enough to express your fondness for a relaxed look.
  • Miss SixtyMiss Sixty

  • Shoes: Stilettos and sandals are among the great ‘no-no’ style items of rock concerts. The ideal shoes for a similar outing would be either distressed still high quality converse or sneakers. These would offer your the chance to dance and walk with confidence. Moreover these designs perfectly complement a rock chic look. However if you would like to live on the wild side, you can also sport some ultra-pop boots. These either normal or over-the-knee boots will give you a Kate Moss allure and an authentic flair to your look. These perfectly fit skinnies and a simple top. It would be a pity to generate any type of accident therefore make sure you wear what your can walk in rather than testing your limits and skills.
  • Accessories: Rock concert might be often associated with endless accessories. However it seems that great stylists agree that it is more advisable to cut back on the number of jewelry and other details. Instead choose the basic pieces moderately that would make a statement on their own without having to pile more of them. A statement or fantasy necklace as well as a few silver or leather bracelets would work just as fabulously. Consider your overall look, if your top is printed in vivid colors it is advisable to skip the necklace and concentrate on your shoes as well as bags and other basic elements. Choose a simple earring and skip the chandelier style. You don’t want to be over-styled and look like a rookie.

    Who’s Got Olympic Spirit?

    b32de04409logo1.png Whos Got Olympic Spirit?
I do! I love the Olympics. I’m not sporty in any kind of way (unless you consider napping a sport, in which case I would be the gold medalist) but I love watching the Games. This year, us Canadians, are hosting! Kasia Fink (aka Mrs. Sea Breeze) a fellow Canadian blogger and proprietress of Kasia Fink Veils will be participating in tonight’s opening ceremonies and she’s been blogging about the rehearsal over the last few months – go check out her blog.

So the big question remains – who’s going to light cauldron? Some say it will be “The Great One.” Some say it might be a hologram of the late Terry Fox. I love the fact that we won’t know until tonight!

The BF is on his way to Toronto as we speak so I’m doubly excited! He has no idea that for the next 2 weeks I’ll be glued to the TV cheering on Canadian competing in sports that I would never dare to try!!

Will you be watching the opening ceremonies?
