Versus Versace – New Fragrance

After reviving the Versace brand’s bridge line Versus, Donatella Versace is launching a new fragrance: Versus Versace. The new scent mixes romantic tones with an energetic rock’ n ‘roll edge, that represents the Versace woman.

After reviving the brand’s second line Versus, the Italian luxury house Versace is ready to launch a new fragrance, called Versus Verscace.
The brand’s creative director Donatella Versace, worked with perfumer Nathalie Lorson to create the new fragrance.

Versus Versace mixes romantic tones with a strong rock’ n ‘roll edge, with top notes of energetic citrus, fused with a soft floral core of orange blossom and dries down to sensual musk and patchouli notes.

“I used purple for the packaging because it represents my fashion and it is a color that reminds me of music,” said Donatella Versace of the bottle.
The fragrance comes in a purple crystal bottle carrying the gold Versus Versace logo, while the box bears the brand’s labyrinth motif, highlighting the fragrance’s rock credentials.

The face of the new fragrance is model of the moment Lara Stone posing in a mirrored labyrinth and wearing Versus. “Lara is a mix of innocence and sensuality. In the fragrance video it looks like she is going to do something unpredictable, like something unexpected is going to happen. This is the real spirit of Versus,” said Donatella.

The new Versus scent will be available in three sizes: 1 oz eau de toilette for $45, 1.7 oz for $59 and 3.4 oz for $79, also additional 6.8 oz bath and shower gel for $30 and body lotion for $35.

The Versus Versace scent will be launched this week in Italy and UK for Valentine’s Day, previewing at Harrods in London. In the US, it is set for March 26 at Macy’s in 680 doors nationwide and will be rolled out in mid-April, including Bloomingdale’s, Nordstrom, Sephora and Ulta.
The launch of the fragrance will be supported with over eight million scented strips in store catalogues and magazines such as Teen Vogue, In Style, Allure and Cosmopolitan.

As you all know, my cousin D is having a baby and a couple of weeks ago, I helped throw a baby shower for her. We decided to have the shower at the Chado Tea Room in Pasadena, CA. The staff at Chado Tea Room were great. So friendly and helpful. Here are a few pics from the shower.

Chado has over 300 varieties of tea. We were lucky enough to try quite a few flavours including White Champagne Raspberry, Chocolate Mint and Ginger Peach. Some of us even bought some to take home!

Remember the baby graphic the BF’s partner whipped up for the invitations? Well, I also incorporated it into the favours and the ’shower game kits.’

I bought the favour circle stickers from Michael’s. They came with a printing template which made printing super easy. The ribbon is also from Michael’s.

The ’shower game kit’ was an envelope that came with three games: 1) Baby Scramble (i.e. Jumble with baby words); 2) Dirty Diaper (more on that later); and 3) TV Kids Trivia.

How cute is this floral centrepiece? Love the glass baby block vase. We had two of these at the table.

The afternoon tea menu at Chado is delicious! Sandwiches included smoked chicken with cranberry sauce, cucumber with cream cheese and green onions, and smoked salmon. Each tea rack came with freshly baked scones with fresh cream, fresh berries and jams. Since we had ordered a cake from Vanilla Bake Shop for D, we decided to skip Chado’s usual slice of cake and opted for chocolate dipped strawberries.

After gorging ourselves on the yummy food, we opened up the ’shower game kit’ and got started on the games. The ‘Baby Scramble’ and ‘TV Kids Trivia’ were pretty straightforward. ‘Dirty Diaper’ was probably the most disgusting yet fun game. The night before the shower, the BF and I bought a handful of chocolate bars and melted them in diapers. Yep, super gross. At the shower, each diaper were passed around and the guests had to guess what chocolate bar was melted in the diaper.

After the games, the Vanilla Lemon Berry cake from Vanilla Bake Shop was brought out. All I can say is the cake was 9 inches round of pure heaven.

D elected not to open gifts at the shower since we really didn’t have the space and D didn’t want to subject her guests to an endless barrage of onesies.

However, I had to share a pic of one of the adorable gifts she received. One of D’s friend made her this amazing onesies/socks/shoes tiered ‘cake’ as a gift. Cute non?

D and her guests had such a great time. I highly recommend Chado Tea Room for any type of shower or maybe for a ‘ladies’ luncheon.’

Nail Fungus Symptoms
Initially a fungal infection begins with a tiny white or yellow spot on the nail. The nail will eventually become thickened with debris or material beneath the nail’s surface. It may turn yellow, green, brown, or black and become crumbly. Nails often separate from the underlying nail bed, giving a white appearance to the nail Fungal infections are most common in toenails but also affect fingernails. Fingernail fungus is very common, especially in women who wear acrylic nails. ‘Warning: A single black streak on one nail may indicate skin cancer in Hispanics and African Americans-see your doctor immediately.

Nail Fungus Causes
A fungus infects the nail, using the pail keratin (protein cells that compose the nail) as fuel or food. Fungal infections are commonly spread in public facilities such as gyms, showers, and swimming pools.

Nail Fungus Treatment
Oral antifungal medications, which you will need to take for twelve weeks for toenail fungus or six weeks for fingernail infections. At the completion of therapy, the existing nails will not appear normal but as the new nail –or nails grow, they will be normal although antifungal nail creams are not very effective for treating nail fungus, prescription antifungal nail lacquers may be helpful the nail lacquers require daily use for six to twelve months.

Nail Fungus Prevention
Keep feet and toenails dry. Use antifungal powder regularly. Wear cotton socks and change them frequently if you sweat a lot. Avoid wearing damp socks or tight shoes in which fungi can grow. Protect your feet with waterproof footwear such as flip-flops or water shoes at public showers or swimming pool. For fingernail care, wash hands frequently and dry them thoroughly. Don’t wear artificial nails for long periods of time, which may only mask and/or contribute to fungal infections. Only patronize nail salons with licensed practitioners and sanitized environments. Take your own nail implements with you each time you go to the manicurist.
