In two weeks Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen will bring their high end label “The Row” to their first fashion presentation at New York Fashion Week. Today, the Olsen twins are launching their junior brand, called “Olsenboy”.
But there’s more to come; the twins have announced a denim-based secondary collection under their “Elizabeth and James” contemporary label.
The denim project is called Textile Elizabeth and James and will launch in March.
The three-jean lineup will have a strong Seventies vibe, inspired from actual jeans in the Olsen twins’ own wardrobe, with one pair dating back to their high school years.
The denim line consists of the Hendrix jean with a slight bell-bottom, the lowrise Stevie and a cropped, high-waisted jean, the Joni.
The Olsen twins’ Textile Elizabeth and James jean collection will be launched in March exclusively at Bergdorf Goodman, Neiman Marcus and Intermix and will wholesale from $106 to $111.
For the fall, Mary-Kate and Ashley plan to launch a whole lifestyle collection for the line.
“We’re talking about the favorite things you want to wear with your jeans, like the ultimate flannel shirt,” said Jane Siskin, president and chief executive officer of L’Koral Industries, which produces Elizabeth and James as well as Olsenboye.
“Elizabeth and James is a name the customers really relate to,” said Siskin. “To give them this other piece of their wardrobe, with the same brand, is an easy connect.”
